The WA Hand Team formed in early 2007, with a vision to establish Western Australia’s most comprehensive specialist centre for managing hand and upper limb injuries.  Dr Hanh Nguyen, Dr Robert Love, Dr Ben Kimberley form this nucleus group. 

Since opening its’ doors in April 2007, the centre has continued to grow.  It now boasts a plastic or orthopaedic surgeon in attendance daily, supported by full-time clinical nursing care.  The Injury Manager handles referrals with a streamlined surgical admission process.

Occupational Therapists in the hand therapy clinic provide continuity of service with individualised patient rehabilitation programmes.  This clinic currently has 3 full-time and 2 part-time therapists on site, with extensive experience contained by this group of therapists.  Staff are involved in university undergraduate Occupational Therapy teaching programmes and medical research.
